Countertops are one of the most visible items in any project and come in a wide variety of designs and base materials. Countertops can be installed on a wide variety of surfaces, and compliment kitchens, bars, restaurants, and bathroom vanities well. Our slabs can be made from natural stones, marble, granite, or quartz (manmade). We also offer alternatives to stone countertops; anything from solid wood, stainless steel, glass and more can be used to create a perfect look for your space.
Natural Stone
Marble and Granite especially are very popular stones for counter tops. For people who like a natural stone look with unique and unexpected shapes and patterns, these tend to be the best options. Depending on the natural patterns of the cut stone, they range from bold and large patterns to milky splashes on a dark background; others have bright colours, reminiscent of a peacock’s tail. Shiny blue, gold, silver, bronze, and green are common and appear standalone or mixed together. More expensive stones of this variety come with visible, authentic shell and fish fossils! Natural stones can be installed in any style of kitchen (classic, modern etc.). Natural stones are preferred for classic and detailed kitchens. Maintenance and cleaning are very simple as long as you don’t use harsh cleansers and abrasive sponges – use a premium cleanser for cleaning. As the natural stone colours and patterns vary, our designers will help you pick the best option available – come in to our showroom anytime between 11-6 and call us beforehand for an appointment after 6PM!
Manmade Stones
Manmade stones come in many solid and patterned colours, with or without sparkles. The finishing is very smooth and fewer pores keep these stones from staining. Maintenance is easier than with granite and there are more organized patterns and designs with quartz. Quartz is best for transitional (mostly off white kitchens) and also used in modern kitchen. As with any kind of stone top, an under mounted sink could be installed.
Stainless Steel, Glass and Solid Wood Tops
These types of tops are also very good looking and each one gives the project a different impression. Stainless steel and glass are mostly used for areas desired to have a commercial look (bars, restaurants and coffee shops) but are in high demand for home areas as well. Stainless steel is scratched easily but after a while your eyes get used to it. Although stainless steel loses its initial shininess, it is a durable and timeless material. Wood tops are usually seen in serving areas – and are usually not used in kitchens or anywhere near where food is prepared. Glass tops are versatile and universally loved and can go just about anywhere – please contact us or drop into our showroom if you have any questions or would like to get an idea for a prospective project.
